Our Music department is one the shining stars of Expressive Arts. Year on year, we are seeing some of the freshest talent being produced and nurtured. With termly shows and a vast array of industry standard equipment, music at Leyton Sixth Form is a no-brainer for anyone wanting to take their music to the next level.
A-Levels and Certificates
BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Music
This course is for students wishing to improve their skills as vocalists or instrumentalists. The BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate is equivalent to one A Level and should be taken as part of a three subject course of study. The focus of the course is on practical rehearsal and performance in a range of contemporary music styles, such as pop and RnB. The course helps students develop their music skills as part of a creative performance package or to balance an academic programme of study.

Entry Requirements: Once we receive your application form we will invite you to attend one of our taster sessions which will include an informal audition. Applicants also need to achieve four GCSE grades A*-C.
UAL Awarding Body L3 Diploma/Extended in Music Performance, Production and Business
This is a course for students with a keen interest in music who want to reach music industry professional standards in their skills as vocalists or instrumentalists. The course is particularly suitable for those thinking of pursuing a career in music. It focuses around staging professional standard performances of music in contemporary styles such as pop and RnB, and enables students to develop the additional skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the industry.
